Upcoming Australian motorcycle events February 28, 2019
Once the territory of rough-riding rebels, today’s Australian motorcycle events go mainstream. The mostly family-friendly gatherings offer fun with a distinctive biker edge. Modern motorcycle and dirt bike fans value scenic courses, custom rides, and showmanship for charitable causes. Here are six upcoming Australian motorcycle events that we recommend for your social calendar.
1 Longriders CMC Australia Annual March Party
The CMC in the Longriders name stands for Christian Motorcycle Club. The organization is known for its faith-based outreach to the biker communities in Melbourne and Adelaide. CMC members have helped many bikers on their journey to beat drug and alcohol addictions through the gospel message of Jesus Christ. The group’s annual party, which takes place on 1 March 2019 in Ferntree Gully, Victoria, features live Blues music, raffles, and free entry for all.
2 Transmoto 12-hour Dirt Bike Event at Batemans Bay
Transmoto sponsors many team dirt bike races every year throughout Australia. The event that takes place on 2-3 March 2019 at Batemans Bay in New South Wales promises fun for intermediate to advanced dirt bike riders. We understand that the course is custom crafted, and bikers ride for fun or in competition.
3 Sunset Car and Bike Show
Our pick for a middle-of-the-week biker event is the Sunset Car and Bike Show that’s sponsored by the Wandin Rotary Club of Melbourne. This is our patrons’ time to show off their classic motorcycles and custom accessories. Entry for the event that takes place at Wandin East Reserve on 20 March 2019 is free. If you want to register your bike in the show, it’ll cost you $5.
4 Vintage Motorcycle Display and Swap Meet
If bikes that have interesting histories are your thing, we have just the event for you. The Vintage Motorcycle Display and Swap Meet features rarely seen antique, branded bikes that helped to build Australia’s biker culture. We’re happy to tell you that many of the vintage bikes are for sale. The event will take place on 24 March 2019 at Cannington Agricultural Showgrounds, Western Australia.
5 Day for Hope and Fundraiser Dalby Racecourse
If there are three things that our staff members love, they are shiny bikes, fun, and a great cause. When you attend the Day for Hope fundraiser, you’ll get all three. Hope is a 19-year old young woman who doctors diagnosed with brain cancer in her early teen years. She’s a fighter, but conventional cancer treatments left her vulnerable to seizures. Proceeds from the event that’ll take place at Dalby Racecourse in Queensland on 30 March 2019 will be used to buy a trained seizure assistance dog for Hope. Bring the family to enjoy live bands, karaoke, face painting, raffles, jumping castles, auctions, BBQ dinner, and vintage motorbike showings.
6 Revving the River Festival
We think that the Revving the River Festival is one of the major Australian motorcycle events for the month of April 2019. The celebration features bikes, music, and food. Its $100 per person registration cost includes show and shine entry fee, an event t-shirt, live band entry fee for two nights, and breakfast at the Henry Hotel. The Revving the River Festival, which takes place on 26-28 April 2019 in Echuca, Victoria, supports the Zaidee’s Rainbow Foundation. Zaidee was a 7-year old girl who died unexpectedly of a brain aneurism. Before she died, she made the selfless decision to become one of Australia’s youngest organ donors. Zaidee’s Rainbow Foundation keeps the child’s spirit of compassion alive for future organ donors.
